I Want to be Wrong

The longer this war now lasts the worse it is for the army, the USA and the world. But the better it might be for the administration. In order to make any substantial progress in the Middle East, I've heard arguments that more troops are needed to secure and hold skirmishes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

However, if the administration can argue they need more troops and power to continue waging the war...then after that we see the need for imposition of martial law and suspension of the 2008 elections. I really want to find out in 2 years that I'm wrong and wearing a tin foil hat. They've got the voting machines to cook the elections now and just got the ability to declare anyone who disagrees with them an enemy combatant and make them disappear. I don't like to think what comes next.

Like you I'm concerned for Riverbend which led me to this blog

I think you'll find that Mssrs Bush and Blair will be looked upon in history as war criminals of the highest order

I'm an ex Gulf vet myself, and cannot see any justification in the farce that is the middle east

I love North Carolina and try and Golf in the triangle at least once a year !
